What's new in Belkasoft X v.1.1
Belkasoft Evidence Center X or, for short, Belkasoft X, is a new flagship Belkasoft’s product for digital forensics and incident investigations.
The version 1.1 of Belkasoft X introduces a new Android acquisition method, namely agent-based MTK acquisition, Japanese localization, support for custom jumplists and a pack of various improvements.
Upgrading from v.1.0 to version 1.1 is free to all customers with a non-expired Extended Software Maintenance and Support contract. Customers without a current contract can purchase it from the Customer Portal. Affordable training with optional certification is available.
More on new features
Agent-based MTK acquisition
As you know, Belkasoft previously supported acquisition of Android phones with MTK chipset. That acquisition type was based on the recovery mode approach. When creating physical images of such devices through the recovery mode, one can find that the image is encrypted using hardware keys, what makes it useless.
In the latest update in Belkasoft Evidence Center X, we supported additional approach: agent-based MTK acquisition. It allows you to get an unencrypted copy of the device's file system. In addition, it is also possible to create a physical image through this method. Note: This method works on firmware released before March 2020.
